Black Eyed Pea

Maria utilizes an emerald green glaze for her Black-eyed Pea pots. The scallops for this pattern are elegant and drawn by hand, with the inclusion of a tiny dots of black underglaze that are also carved.

Onyx

A new body of work is emerging this Fall in a classic black and white called "Onyx". These include lots of inlay drawings made directly into the leather-hard clay. A black underglaze is then brushed into the lines. Next the clay is wiped, leaving underglaze in the creavases in process akin to etching.
